General Course Instructions
- Create a New Pacific EMPRINTS User Account
Your new user account will allow you to enroll
in a variety of instructor-led classes, online courses, and training events.
Please note that EMRPINTS is required by its funding sources
to collect some basic demographic information about our trainees. Your individual
information will not be released or made public in any way.
- Enrolling in Pacific EMPRINTS Courses
To enroll in the course, navigate
to the Course's Information page and click "Enroll now" on the page.
- Course Formats
The courses are offered in a variety of formats ranging from PowerPoint slides with audio to podcasts. Course handouts are available for all of the courses.
To take an online course or to obtain course
handouts, please navigate to the "Enrolled
Courses & Events"
page. Then you may proceed to "Go to Online Tutorials" and/or
"Get Printable Handouts".
- Knowledge-based, Problem-based, and GIS Awareness & Knowledge courses are availabe online
as well as on CDs.
- Podcasts may be downloaded to MP3 or iPod devices or can be accessed directly on the EMPRINTS' website.
- ArcGIS Emergency Planning & Response Exercises are in tutorial format with
step-by-step instructions utilizing sample data relevant to Hawaii.
After completion of the selected online course, you will be able to access the post-test. If you have completed a course off line, e.g. podcasts or on CDs, you will be provided a TEST CODE at the end of the course.
Please note that you are allowed to retake the test only once so take a moment to review your course handouts before starting the test.
- Certificate of Completion
In order to pass the test, you must have a score of 80% or higher.
If you satisfactorily pass the post-test, a Certificate
of Completion is available for printing. Navigate to the "Course
& Event History" page where your Certificates will be stored.
- Application for CME Credits
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are available for all of the knowledge-based,
problem-based and podcast courses through the Center for Continuing Medical Education at the
Yale School of Medicine. If you are interested in receiving CME credits, navigate to the "Course & Event History" page and
click "Apply" next to the course title. For more information, please go
to the "Obtaining CME Credits" page.
